Finally Done xD

Finally, after a long struggle Papoi web comics ended up in a nice, little, comic book brochure.
I waited a long time for this and now that it's all done I feel that my work is accomplished. But Papoi will not stop! :D Stay tuned for more adventures on my blog or facebook page.

Mishka and the Sea Devil

So, my book came out on the market after a long struggle on October, last year, at the Comic Con New York event. It was an amazing, unique moment for me. I'm happy that a big dream of mine came true and now I'm hoping, you, the public will like it too.
So if you didn't had the chance to read it yet, you can download it in a digital format from Comixology or buy it on a printed, hard cover version from Book Depository if you live in Europe.

All about Papoi

Nu stiu daca cineva isi mai aduce aminte de prezentarea mea din cadrul Salonului European de Banda Desenata, din decembrie 2013. Va reamintesc cu niste imagini :)

M-am reantalnit cu Ileana Surducan si am cunoscut-o personal pe Maria Surducan, am impartit idei si pareri pe subiectul iubit de noi atat de mult. M-am bucurat foarte mult sa fiu inconjurata de persoane pe care le admir si le respec si va multumesc tare mult ca ati venit, a insemnat mult pentru mine.
Multumesc si "Jumatatea Plina" pentru ocazia oferita :)

Am facut si un joculet. Da, da :P stiu ca a trecut foarte mult timp de atunci dar sper sa ma intelegeti :)) si sper ca inca va mai amintiti cat de fun a fost.
Ati scris pe niste foi cateva cuvinte care urmau sa devina personaje. Sa ne aducem mai bine aminte:

New VDM :D

So let's remember my first VDM illustré in 11/12/2009 . The dog that get's fat, the cute butcher and the girl that changes so many outfits? :D yah, that's the one!

Alors allons souviens de ma première VDM illustré dans 11/12/2009. Le chien qui se de graisse, le boucher mignon et la fille qui change tellement de tenues? : D yah, c'est le bon!

 So now, after the first comic strip that had so many comments (and thank you sooo much for commenting, i had such a great time reading all that :D) here comes a second VDM and a new interview. You can click the link and read it and maybe live a comment :D
I will put here some behind the scenes scraps just to make a picture about the way i work.
I always thought that the scraps look better than the final thing :P

Alors maintenant, après la première bande dessinée qui a eu tant de commentaires (et je vous remercie beaucoup pour avoir commenté, j'ai eu un très bon moment de lecture tout cela :D) voici une seconde VDM et une nouvelle interview. Vous pouvez cliquer sur le lien et lire et peut-être vivre un commentaire  :D
 Je vais mettre ici quelques bribes dans les coulisses juste pour faire une image de la façon dont je travaille.
J'ai toujours pensé que les bribes regardent mieux que le produit fini. :P

a couple of well known french comic artist. So, YAY! :D

Papoi in Comics

 

Primul numar al Revistei COMICS pe anul acesta si deja al saptelea numar in total reuneste pagini de comics si benzi desenate a nu mai putin de 22 de autori romani: Alex Tamba, Alice Rapceanu, Adrian Serghie, Andrei Puica, Costel BD, Cristinel Zaharie, Cristian Mindrut, Doru Axinte, Gavrila Alexandra, Ionut Popescu, Mihai Ionescu, Matei Branea, Nicolae Negura, Octav Ungureanu, Raluca Z., Serban Andreescu, Sorin Pintilii, Silviu Cadia, Sickboy, Toma, Vlad Forsea si Xiusha.

Lansarea va avea loc vineri, 27 ianuarie, ora 19:00 la Galeria SAINT INK (str. Vor fi jocuri si boardgames de la tarabadejocuri.ro, reviste de la comicbookcity.ro, produse de la tanaaa.ro cat si cea mai noua colectie Boule.

Bad Machinery

On May 18, 2011,  John Allison made me a very big surprise and asked me to do a guest comic for he's site Bad Machinery. I did the strip and i had sooo much fun drawing it.
He's stories are amazingly fun.
In return for my little comic guest strip he sent me a super nice drawing with Xiu and Papoi.
I i love it so much so i framed it and put it on the wall of collections :))

I did this one at the workshop with Sascha Hommer and Kati Rickenbach organized by "Jumatatea Plina". I'm sorry that i don't have pictures from the event, someone did some... don't know where they are... :(

It was nice i I learned some new stuff so thank you for making this possible ! :)

Tsunami Book by CFSL

OK so i'm not in the book yet... pfff... :(
The money earned will be donated to the people that suffered in Japan. I'm so so happy that i can do something for them!!! Be strong Japan, i know you will make it trough!

In the mean time @ MNAC the workshop goes fine. I've meet Jane Candy, Mihai, Toma, Nilu Crocodilu and Octav Ungureanu and we exchanged drawings. That's how i've got my first "Xiu and PApoi" fanart ^__^ i'm so happy, take a look:

INsPiRED or not INsPiRED

was chosen as one of the 10 finalist (10 of 69 participants) with my "A New Beginning" comic, so i'm gonna show you the process of work.

-For the begineing when i felt like i have a story i made some fast doodles for the main character:

-After i could get the idea of how the main character looks i started to sketch the pages so i could get the idea of how the panels will look like and how will they fit in the page. This ones are very veri small just enough to handle the page composition:

- After finishing this stage i went on a biger page and pencil everithing out, then inking, then scanning and colloring on the computer. And this is how it turned out:

Well this is it, did't get a prise, but i saw some genius pieces that didn't get prises either, GOD knows why...
Here they are: Negura Nicolae and Badea Andra vary vary nice work! Good work guys!!!
Oh, and this is me, almost forgot :P

PS:I can see that peple think that there is a cat on a leach (u can imagine that if you want, it's still funy :D) but he is a Chow Chow and i chose it becauze i think it's the most cute dog ever!! so ya you can call it Kat ;))
